Capgemini | Consultant Interview Experience

I’m excited to share a major milestone in my career journey β€” I recently received an offer for the Consultant role at Capgemini! πŸŽ‰

This opportunity has been a result of focused preparation, hands-on experience, and most importantly, the constant support and guidance from some amazing individuals and platforms. Let me walk you through my experience, hoping it helps others in their own journey.

Round 1: Pure Technical – SQL & Data Modeling

The first round was deeply technical. The interviewer focused primarily on:

– SQL queries β€“ joins, subqueries, CTEs, window functions, and performance optimization

– Data modeling concepts β€“ fact and dimension tables, normalization vs denormalization, star vs snowflake schema, and slowly changing dimensions (SCDs)

Round 2: Techno-Functional – SQL + Management Insights

The second round was a techno-functional interview β€” a blend of technical and managerial questions.

On the technical side, the focus shifted to more advanced topics like:

– Stored procedures

– Use of temporary tables

– Error handling and optimization techniques

Then came the functional and managerial questions, where the interviewer wanted to understand:

– How I handle stakeholder communication

– Experience in requirement gathering

– Examples of collaborating with cross-functional teams

– Situations where I demonstrated leadership or handled a challenging deadline.

Finally there was one English Mocha test, that’s generally a formality for experienced people.

Lastly, there was a HR round for salary negotiations and document verification and then they released the offer letter.

I also want to thanks @Shailja mishra and @shashank mishra for there constant support and guidance through gds. It really helped me in cracking this role.

Hope this helps you !
