Iβm excited to share a major milestone in my career journey β I recently received an offer for the Consultant role at Capgemini! π
This opportunity has been a result of focused preparation, hands-on experience, and most importantly, the constant support and guidance from some amazing individuals and platforms. Let me walk you through my experience, hoping it helps others in their own journey.
Round 1: Pure Technical β SQL & Data Modeling
The first round was deeply technical. The interviewer focused primarily on:
β SQL queries β joins, subqueries, CTEs, window functions, and performance optimization
β Data modeling concepts β fact and dimension tables, normalization vs denormalization, star vs snowflake schema, and slowly changing dimensions (SCDs)
Round 2: Techno-Functional β SQL + Management Insights
The second round was a techno-functional interview β a blend of technical and managerial questions.
On the technical side, the focus shifted to more advanced topics like:
β Stored procedures
β Use of temporary tables
β Error handling and optimization techniques
Then came the functional and managerial questions, where the interviewer wanted to understand:
β How I handle stakeholder communication
β Experience in requirement gathering
β Examples of collaborating with cross-functional teams
β Situations where I demonstrated leadership or handled a challenging deadline.
Finally there was one English Mocha test, thatβs generally a formality for experienced people.
Lastly, there was a HR round for salary negotiations and document verification and then they released the offer letter.
I also want to thanks @Shailja mishra and @shashank mishra for there constant support and guidance through gds. It really helped me in cracking this role.
Hope this helps you !
